To the Serengeti, Part 3.

After leaving the Masai, we went to Olduvai Gorge where Louis and Mary (Mary really) discovered Homo Habilis and Homo Erectus. I could go on and on about that, but that can wait to tell you in person. But as is said, when you are at the gorge, you are at the epicenter of the birth of civilization.

On the side of the road. Een the rocks are beautiful here. There is mica everywhere and most of the rocks sparkle. Eyre is tons of quartz and lots of agates.

The immense Serengeti plain. We are here during the wildebeest migration. Humbling!

Then clouds, then rain.

50 BRUTAL kilometers of slipping and going very, very slowly.

Not us.

Our lodge is behind that hill!
