Why this blog?

In the Spring of 2010 I went to France for six weeks. Armed with my iPad, I managed to post to a blog about my trip fairly regularly. Some of my friends at home valued the diary, I enjoyed writing it, but the best outcome of the blog, was when I came home. When I got back, I simply picked up my life where I left off—everyone already new all my stories. My re-entry, therefore, was more about catching up on what my friends had been doing than my trip.

So, in the Fall 0f 2011, I blogged about my trip to Morocco, Egypt and Tanzania and by then I had followed the travel blogs of friends and learned how much fun arm-chair travel can be. So now, in late 2012, I am blogging about my trip to South Africa, Namibia and briefly to Botswana.
